Some of my favorite Groove Metal bands. Not in any certain order. Don't forget to watch vol.2 before you suggest another band.

  • Throwdown bitch!! Cool list, although i wouldn't call down a groove metal band but w/e

  • @deathonics Groove is a derivative of thrash and as far as I can tell, more like an inversion of rhythms creating a "groovier" feeling.

  • you should check out Hatesphere :D thats the shit xD BTW Pantera owns all the other bands in this video <3

  • @deathonics im no expert but what ive noticed the vocals are a bit more...deathmetalish...dunno how else to put it...

  • @CorneliusWizardhands I guess your right but I'm not a musician, so I can't really speak to that, as a fan though it's pretty obvious that this genre has strong sense of rhythm to the music, unlike prototypical thrash bands like Slayer per say. I know alot of metalheads especially the extreme guys who hate this genre, because they see it as these bands dumbing down metal to make it more mainstream accessible. Thoughts?

  • @Jonesyntube That's wikipedia's definition but if you really listen to the music it's not necessarily slower but it uses dotted rhythms where as for the most part thrash just uses straight doubles. You're right some Metallica and Megadeth songs could be called groove but it has a lot to do with the time these things came out.
