Incidentally, the scene alluded to a major scandal of the time: a very well known cancer-research charity was found to have misused vast amounts of money - personal enrichment of the founder.

Another charity sued and won against the film.

I find it extremely ironic that a film that attacks the food, automobile, consumer electronics, pharmaceutical industries and so many more interests should be sued by... a TV charity. There is a lot to learn from this IMHO.

The movie was never banned. A section of the movie was taken out after a TV charity sued one particular scene - the film was found guilty of libel. This section is still not on the DVD that is now on sale; however the lawsuit and the banned scene are alluded to in the DVD bonuses.

the movie WAS banned!

It no longer is apparently... but it was for sure because the movie makers mentioned this fact on the latest DVD release which I own.
