you and your statement is ignorant.

just shut up! they believed that Eight Belles deserved the chance to run for the roses, and she did! she proved the doubters wrong, that fillies can run with the boys! Eight Belles clearly loved running, its in her blood. Larry Jones obviously loved that filly, she was given a chance to run and she did. She kicked 18 colt's butts!

Larry Jones is one of the few trainers who respects his horses and treat them right. He is a good man.

all of you who made negative comments:
that happens to be my grandfather your talking about. learn a thing or two about horseracing before you make ignorant statements.
thanks.

I make more money than you do...that's my point!! :-)

BarnBrain,
Then why do they put jockeys on them and have them whip their asses while they run, yelling into their ears to run faster? hmmm?
-
Sorry..but you are wrong! I have 22 Thoroughbreds...they race each other out in the pastures...(no human involved)..it's what they do best..RUN FAST! SO your point is pointless!!

You make no sense! Put your money where your mouth is...start adopting ex race horses, like I do. Then you might know more about horses!
Couldn't make the owner money? What are you, retarded? She broke both front ankles, and broke the skin, meaning infection. Even if, somehow, they couldn't saved her, she would've lived her life in excrutiating pain. Is that how you view "humane" treatment?
These horses love to run, whether you like it or not. If they don't want to, they don't have to. Ever heard of Zippy Chippy? He stopped in the MIDDLE of races. No horse HAS to run.
Rest in piece Eight Belles. Only the best die young.

a human runner can break his legs by running in a race too. Larry Jones is one of the few trainers that I support. Eight Belles was perfectly sound before the race. Just like one misstep for a human can result in a torn ligament, the same goes for horses. It's not that hard to figure out, but I guess for your tiny brain it is.
