How I draw Sonic

Mastering the pen tool is hard as heck but once its mastered its cake.

so when you make a flash, you go into illustrator to create the characters, then bring the drawing into flash? when you want to edit facial expressions, do you go back into illustrator and draw the new facial expression or do you use flash for that kind of editing? Just curious because I'm trying to experiment using illustrator with flash.

Dude, I suck big time, this is too good... I never thought about making such animations, it seems like too much work, but I just started soo I guess that maybe I'll reconsider that. Combining flash and photoshop, I always drew everything in flash, but this looks preety cool. Gonna google some tuts. maybe that will help the case. Again, amazing work :-).

There's no way I can draw like that. I just make up sonic characters by a re making them so eg: shadows body with sonics head in black with blue stripes insted of red= Ratchet the hedgehog

I've never used illustrator, but I can tell you have lol. Are you creating the different parts (i.e. the eyes, ears, browline) as different layers? Which tool lets you stretch and reshape objects like that?

@HarpyTV Yes I do use layers. I use the Direct Selection Tool to reshape the objects.

Good drawing of Sonic. I saw your comments that you animate stuff from illustrator in flash, how do you go about doing that? (I usually use the brush tool in illustrator)

@sarahcbear I just copy/paste the drawings into flash. Sometimes I copy the entire body, sometimes I copy individual body parts.
