Can someone point me in the direction of what exactly caused the Koch Bros' father/grandfather to move from working with Stalin to helping to found the JBS. & How did he get involved with Stalin in the first place?

Fred Koch (father) invented a novel way to extract or process petroleum. Could not crack the US market that was still dominated by some guy named Rockefeller. Sought greener pastures with willing buyers which included those in the Soviet oil fields. Unclear if a turn away from uncle Joe was a turn back to Rockefeller camp. Doubtful.

Other plot arc is that a few year's after Robert Welch left his brother's candy biz, his brother sold his company to Nabisco - part of the evil Rockefeller empire. Probably just a straight business deal. Interesting footnote is Welch's brother's son stayed on and eventually became head of Nabisco. From there he negotiated the Nabisco RJR mega merger and ended up on the RJR board.  Google: James Welch RJR Nabisco.

If you're a leftist anarchist then you're a communist. After all, Marx believed that the "successes" of socialism (ha!) would cause the need for government to "wither away". the racism of the john birch society is revealed not because they were anti-communist or small government or even conservative but because they supported a racist like segregationist barry goldwater for president in 64 and they were anti civil rights bill of 1964. so the speech above was not racist but their positions on fundamental civil liberties for all americans certainly was.
