The Asylum

This was an empty asylum I noticed on a drive through the country. I was hoping to see what it was (at first I didn't know if it was an old hospital, school, or government building) and I could find anything. So I decided to take some pictures and walk around the outside.

Whereabouts was this?

It's in Sheboygan county. It's surrounded by miles of farm fields in every direction. Like I said, I found no signs of its history (I first thought it was a hospital), but there were no resedences around to ask any one about the place either. I tried to do a small search at the public library. I found out my city had an asylum out in the country somewhere, but it never mentioned where and the picture was from the late 1800's. Still no word from the local historian I e-mailed.

dear joeyasaurusrex, why do you have to be such a dolt? what did this guy ever do to you? There is no legal action you can take against him because he has a video, get over it. If you in fact live there, I suggest admitting yourself to the facility. You obviously belong there if you cannot show an appreciation for such a fascinating place of architecture.

if a horror movie were shot here the owner would make a mint, I don't think I've seen a creepier place, even in daylight it gives me the creeps.

it is a mental hospital i know because i spent a night there to see if it was haunted it is!!!
