  • I luv jupiter 2. i remember my brother and me making the jupiter 2 from scraps of wood, in my grandparents back yard nice days.

  • @peacetrain60 I used to cut the wooden yo yo's in half to make the ship. Those were the days!

  • Great clips (and some nice editing) and a great theme song by the (then) relatively unknown composer - John Williams!

  • @CavoriteDigital Thanks

  • I always admired the J2, Loved those flight sequences. But even as a kid watching this I wondered how it crash landed on most planets and never had a scratch on it, especially the fusion core which always hit first. Then I remembered, its a TV show.

  • I could not understand when she was on the ground "crashed" why there was a ring about 8 inches high around the bottom of the ship, but then I was only six.

  • Lost in Space is also my favorite sci-fi show of all time. The vehicles like the Jupiter 2,Space Pod,Chariot,Jet Pack were all built to full scale aswell as several scale miniatures of each craft.Wow what production values for it's time.Unlike today where everything is CGI.

I also like how the Robinsons were a close knit family and they had a Robot. Then don't forget that gripping music.Thats why I liked it better than Trek.I liked the early survival stories stunning Film Noir cinematography.

  • I am 45 years old and grew up with both LIS and Star Trek. As a teenager I liked Star Trek. Remember waiting in line for hours for the first movie in 1979. When the new series came along, I hated them. But I never grew tired of LIS. LIS was the better show!! People think I am nuts. But because the show wasn't so damn serious, it explored absurdities that made it wonderful. Where else would you find things like The Celestial Department Store, Space Vikings, and talking vegetables?

  • @tekiup In one of the Australian Lost in space club meetings a member had aerial photo's of the Fox studio's

taken circa 1967.There between the sound stages was the Jupiter 2 full scaler.I wonder what happened to it

did it deteriot or was demolished sometime after The Man from the 25th century was filmed.

  • @reticulan5 I have a picture of the full scale J2 at the Fox Studios. I can't remember which actor was standing on the steps of the right front landing gear. If I had the money, I'd buy it and put it in my back yard...LOL I'd be like a grown man in a tree house.

  • Great clips from "Visit to a Hostile Planet". Fans better enjoy them while they can before Kevin Burns from Fox finds out and orders them pulled.

  • The crash music from season ONE is the most intense music I ever heard..

  • funny!!

  • Most of these scenes are from an episode where they land in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in 1947. Cool Stuff!
