@CosmicUndeadElf I think they could see him because he allowed them to. The way I understood it is that Jacob could switch between the ghost world (Hurley's friends) and the living world. When it was only Hugo and MiB that could see him it was because he only wanted Hugo and MiB to see him but when Sawyer saw him as well it was to scare/confuse MiB. Just my theory anyway.

Is the reason Jack, Kate, and Sawyer can see Jacob because they are candidates or simply from Jacob burning his ashes? I wish the writers made these things clearer, season 6 was awesome but it was probably the most confusing to follow because much of the plot revolves around supernatural concepts that are a bit tough to grasp.

@MultiFeral And Sun, Jin, and Sayid wound up seeing the statue's foot. The Statue of the Goddess of Fertility and PROTECTION. Jacob, the protector of the Island, lives in the statue. The 4 toed statue was a symbol for why they were there. To protect the Island.

Ever notice how in Season 2 these 4 were "Jacob's List" in the finale? Also how Sun, Jin and Sayid were the ones on a boat together at the time?

lol you notice how jacob called them all by their real name except kate ;) and before when he met her as a kid he called her katie..maybe he had a thing for her XD
