  • Where to get the money?...

It looks like there are alot of motorists using the highway right behind you, why not get the money from them, right as they use it?

Think ezPass or cameras on the highway. Normal charge accounts for maintenance and capital costs. Congestion costs during rush hour go towards mitigating congestion, such as towards a money pool to widen the bridge your standing on.

  • Bridges and roads were the major part of this bill. The only part for transit funding was the 1/4 cent sales tax. According to the Minnesota state constitution 100% of the gas tax and other fees that go into the Highway user trust fund must go to roads. That means all of the gas tax increase will go towards replacing bridges and improving highways. Also check MNDOT's website, they plan to add lanes on 694 in 2012. We need more leaders like rep. Gardner who fight for transportation funding in MN.

  • Good job Paul! Glad this passed so we can start investing in Minnesota's future.

  • Very nice summary. It's great to have a rep who clearly understands the state's problems and has a rational plan to fix them. The voters of District 53A should be proud.
