a beautiful wooden carving called lady of liberty came to massena new york for the annual veterans day ceremony. this wood carving was hand carved and painted in various colors. its a monument to remember all those who have served in the united states military -- let us not forget -- the ones who gave their life for our freedom. wreaths at bottom of carving are for those all killed in action.
lady of liberty was on display for several days in washington state. it is planned for future display at the st. lawrence county court house.
A chainsaw carving done by Josh Blewett of Washington, the statue was commissioned by Greg and Molly Caron as a reminder to Americans of their liberty and freedom. The wreath on the statue is a symbolic reminder of those who gave their life for freedom. The sword is a symbol of the battles yet to be fought to preserve freedom. This statue will also be displayed at many events throughout the North Country in the upcoming year.
