A brave director. He tooks a lot of stories with deep and vaste behaviour and faces like incest, for example. Very brave. In 'Precius' he was capable to put a black, fat, poor girl in the main role and show her with a terrible story. Very brave. You can see also he is a very sweet guy...

Well Lee had to raise millions for making the film, and releasing it, press, etc. all is very expensive. Many studios give a limited release to "test the water" to see how it will do. So I'm guessing after the Oscars and after the movie makes enough money it will get a wider and wider release. He made this thinking it would be direct to video so this is already way beyond his expectations.

Wow, I rarely see a film director get emotional like that. They're usually so distanceful. I wonder hoe the critical push that he's ben receiving will affect his career (wrether he goes commercial or author cinema).

Cos8712 - Sometimes film studios release movies this way as a strategy to build audience anticipation & participation. I wish I had a better answer for you but do see it; it is a great film!
