  • Great video, great song - thanks for posting.

But was this definitely shot in the mid-90s or was it in fact earlier... because the lineup here doesn't look remotely the same as the Molokai of '95-'98 that I remember. (Valerie Lobe, Patrick Bebey, Awa Maiga, etc. are all absent).

    Thanks again.

  • Shot in early '90 way before the group that you cited. The original lineup was Maika, Shakara, Ikonola, Boffy, (Reddy et Stino, absent here) and the two white dude (sorry forgot the name).

  • Selky please tinda concert nionso au complet

  • This was a one-song shooting in a studio with audience, not a concert.

  • 3. Finally, Papa Wemba is saying that enough is enough and he's not going to take it anymore. He's asking for Africa liberty, liberty, liberty,... It's heartbreaking to listen this song. Frankly, my heart breaks down. The message is so deep and so powerful. Why do black people have to go through all these? Why? Why? To y'all, this song is for all of us black people. Enjoy the song. Nice stuff. Thanks Papa Wemba. Viva Africa. God bless y'all.

  • 2. Papa Wemba is saying that Martin Luther King, Bob Marley,... they also cried out about the slavery and he cried along with them. Papa Wemba also mentioned the occupation and the regime of apartheid in South Africa. Papa Wemba went on to say that Africa's resources have been exploited by white people during the colonialism of Africa. Papa Wemba is asking why african people had to go through all these situations...?

  • 1. This song is about african people who were sold and sent into slavery in America. Papa Wemba is saying that he has brothers and sisters who are now living in America and in islands; Martinique, Guadeloupe, Nouvelle Caledonie,... These brothers and sisters are actually those africans who were sent into slavery to work for white people in America. He's saying that the problem is that his brothers and sisters and himself, they don't know each other...
