@BarnLes I got to speak up here, friend, for a man I KNOW and you're off the beam

on this one. As a young man I remember when Bro. Swaggart traveled around in

a used 1958 Oldsmobile pulling a little trailer with everything he and Frances

owned while he preached and sang in small churches. Many times he hardly

got enough offering for gas to reach his next meeting, but Jimmy loves Jesus so

much it didn't matter.

He's made money on his records but it all goes to ministry. He's a man of God.

It's great to see some people stand up for Jim Swaggart. He's a good man. He fell and God raised him. Just goes to show that no matter how much you have fallen God can pick you up -- God also loves you unconditionally...that's awesome.

@worksequalsalvation cont...confused before about Paul and His writings. I was confused as to if his writings were really from God and if they lined up with what Jesus said and the other apostles. I pondered this one day as I was reading the Bible on the bus on my way home from classes. Then I do believe that the Lord spoke to me. He basically said "you are either going to believe all of my word from Genesis to Revelation both OT and NT or none of it at all."

@worksequalsalvation That is true. I remember I was talking with a family member about another family member not believing in the OT. This family member I was talking with talked about the verse you just mentioned and that the only scripture that was compiled at the time of Paul was the OT. The NT wasn't even finished yet let alone compiled. As far as Paul, I've noticed how he personally and his writing have gone through much scrutiny. I myself have been...cont.

Paul writes all scripture is of god and good for doctrine..... When Paul wrote his,only the OT existed.The NT was not considered scripture after much fighting and debate along with editing and forgeries.(Check out youtube Bart Ehrman,biblical scholar and pofessor,check out Robert M. Price.Both are men of impeccable credentials and pastorials.)

@worksequalsalvation cont...tempted with. But is it possible. Sure. And yes, James 1:13 does say that God cannot be tempted. So then what's the answer to that? The first thing that popped into my head was Philippians 2:6-8.

@worksequalsalvation cont... latest Gospel to have been written was the Gospel of John probably around 90 A.D. And the other three from around 40 A.D. to the before mentioned. The epistles of Paul were actually written before the gospels were written interestingly enough. That is a very good question that some, if not many, have come across. So did he really have homosexual temptations, pornographic temptations, etc.? No one can really say what all the things he was...cont.

@worksequalsalvation You are absolutely right, God alone must be worshiped. The obvious thing that I use to think was that the Gospels were written by the title-men but even good Christian scholars don't really say that. I have read that they were written by other followers of Christ according to those given in the gospel's titles. Many Christians believe that Paul might have written Hebrews because of the similarities in the other epistles. If I'm correct, the...cont.
