The ultimate STOL plane - I could not believe how slow it could be and still fly. The landing in this clip is not in slow motion but real time. The aircraft is an ICP Savannah MXP 740, a copy of the Heintz's CH 701 - sadly with a Jabiru engine (the much better Rotax engine makes this all metal aircraft too heavy for UK rules). Oct 07

  • Usafshorty - no, nothing is fake in this video. I admire your attention to detail but ... that piece of garden hose that looks like it is there to prevent the throttle from going in too far, is actually never touched. Also it's about flying slow, so that requires the throttle being all the way out.

  • do you get a parachute?

  • the aircraft is nicknamed "metal parachute" as it can fly so slow !

  • what is the music????

  • Top Gun - cliche, meant as joke :-)

  • Question, what is the scale with numbers from 20 thru 70 represent? [at the time mark starting at 2:42 ]

    thanks

  • it's the number of litres of fuel in the tanks

  • Would somebody please inform the pilot that the big white number at the end of the runway is not the speed limit!

  • And tell me why you can't have gloves on in a slow aeroplane? why do you have gloves on in the winter?

OMG I wish I hadn't read this stupid comment

  • @USAFshorty12 WHAT?? how would that work then?

  • i like how the the throttle is not all the way in so this is fake

  • I have a 901 and a moyes dragonfly and there is no way the 701 can fly as slow as the Dragonfly, I have flown the Dragonfly at 18 mph in ground effect at sea level.

The Dragonfly has much more wingspan and it is consideably lighter which equates to a much slower flight.

  • how much are these aircraft

  • is that a grass runway

  • What is the slowest speed you fly in this plane?

  • Slow indeed.... I'd like some vids of a Storch landing and taking off with minimum ground-roll....

  • make a nose dive it bet it;'' go faster :)

  • What is the approach speed?
