On the same day that we introduced newly-arrived bull elephant Prince to his new yard, pool and habitat, his neighbor, Nicholas, who was across the way in his big habitat, dived into his pond and executed a memorable aquatic show, pushing huge logs into the water and dragging them back out, trumpeting and bellowing as if to say, "Oh yeah, watch this!"

  • Thank you for your love, patience, help and support for giving all your elephants a chance to act like an elephant. Learning to be a happy elephant is more than letting them play in the water, etc. They are slowly beginning to trust people, even though man is the human who basically destroyed their life. When they reach any elephant rescue sanctuary, they know they are home at last. God loves all animals and has offered us a chance to love & respect them.

  • Finally, he may decide for himself how he would act?

  • Maybe it's revenge he's doing?

  • I feel more alive myself watching my friends enjoying the wonderful lives PAWS has created for them. The care and love you all provide our friends is so evident it almost breaks my heart in such a loving and adoring way I just want to run up and hug the caretakers ALL, Pat (whose every pore is beaming with pride!), and our friends. (They may not take too well to my adoring love, so I'll let the PAWS folks do that for me. My love to you ALL!

  • God bless you guys for how you love and care for these God's creatures. Thank you.

  • Pat, you nailed it. This is real enrichment. It's also impossible to miss the smile on Nick's face as he pushes the stump around. He's happy as a clam.

  • What an amazing boy and what an amazing place!! Thanks for all you do, PAWS!! <3

  • Nic was very focused on moving that log around!

His great physical condition and happy demeanor is testimony to the fantastic care and love he's receiving at PAWS. Thanks guys for giving these boys such wonderful opportunity to be bull elephants.

    Cheers from NZ
