POSZF - Hungary, Pécs -- 2010 June
Nomada was founded by rom Balogh Gusztáv in 2003. Although the music of Nomada is derived from the hungarian gypsy tradition, it creates a unique sound by mixing various styles. It blends gypsy folk music with spanish, arabic, and serbian folk music elements. The vocals come with the caracteristic gypsy rhythm pattern and singing style, enriched by the grooves provided by the drums and the bass guitar. However, without the violin and the accordion, the special sound of the Nomada could not be complete. The powerful and ecstatic music of this group conjures up a far-away, ancient world. The songs are sung in Romanes (the rom language) and most of them are about the life of the gypsies. They speak of sadness, pain, joy and happiness with unusual opennes and honesty.
