Anyone saying bike culture has gone lame, try riding a fixed and doing any of these flat tricks. Controlling inertia and still keeping control is no joke. Try getting out on a fixed and watch yourself fall flat on your ass. This isn't me being a youtube fake hardass this is me saying slaying flatland on a fixed it no joke.

err...in response to the previous comment...: don't even begin to compare this to bmx flatland...the only thing they share in common is they both use two wheels.

Why isn't it fun anymore if there are more people doing it now? If the only reason you were doing it before was because there was 3 people out on fixed gears, then you're as brand conscious and worse than a hipster.

Fixed gears are fun, ride 'em because you love them and don't worry about anyone else.

You wouldn't, but in San Diego the hipsters far out number the people who do it just for fun. I like aerospokes and I LOVE aluminum track bikes which are light and allow for better tricks as well as racing, but as soon as there were 1,000 plus riders in my area doing them I totally lost taste in it. Perhaps my perspective is all fucked up and I DO miss my fixed gear but I will never ever go on another ride with those clowns again. Drink beer, smoke cigs, ride fixed? NTY. There are better things.

True years ago I could be riding down the streets in Chicago and see maybe three people riding fixed I wouldnt call it lame I think its cool that people are getting out there and doing something productive instead of sitting on their asses half the kids have their parents buy them Aerospokes and an aluminum bike and ride but I wouldnt call them part of the culture Id call them people who want to be part of something so bad that they will go to any length to fit in usually just sticking out worse

I say bike culture has gone lame and I can do all of these tricks. Riding fixed (for me) was sick 2 years ago before it went ultra main stream and it really became a hipster fad.
