The Non League Mighty Reds (official AFC Liverpool 2009 Cup Song)
Do you remember
Three o clock on Sat'day afternoon
Standing with your mates all in a line
Waiting at the turnstile to get into the ground
And pocket money's all you had to find
Well its a memory no more
When you see AFC Liverpool score
And we're going to the cup final my friend
We've been with Shanks and Paisley now we're doing it again
This time we're following Derek Goulding's men
Cos the non league mighty Reds are just as mighty
Do you remember
When you were standing on the Kop
And you had your bessie mate stood by your side
And when Kenny took the ball down on his chest to slot it home
Do you remember how it made you feel inside
Well its a memory no more
When you see AFC Liverpool score
And we're going to the cup final my friend
We've been with Shanks and Paisley now we're doing it again
This time we're following Derek Goulding's men
Cos the non league mighty Reds are just as mighty
Do you remember
The way we used to always have a laugh
With the people stood around us at the game
And we'd raise our scarves and sing You'll Never Walk Alone with pride
And nowhere else could ever feel the same
Well its a memory no more
When you see AFC Liverpool score
And we're going to the cup final my friend
We've been with Shanks and Paisley now we're doing it again
This time we're following Derek Goulding's men
Cos the non league mighty Reds are just as mighty
This type of club needs to be stamped out and stamped out quickly! They represent poor kopites that can't afford a ticket for Liverpool FC. You start clubs up to represent demographics like that, the non-league circles are going to be littered with this type of vanity exercise team and the competitions get devalued. I'm absolutely delighted that it didn't take off and hopefully they'll run out of money soon and fold! Decent ditty though.
