I'm using this in a review I made of this game on a French site here: http://www.geekmodeblog.com/2009/10/castlevania-symphony-of-night-ps1.html#co... This is also the first video in a walkthrough requested by ArcadeHero48. Even though it says Final Stage, this is how the game begins in order to recreate the last battle in its prequel, so it's impossible to lose, but the stats of another character named Alucard depend on your performance in this battle. This is a PS1 classic game (which gained critics and fans' acclaim, unlike the Sega Saturn version in which there are strangely additional areas) that everyone should give a try. Is it strange that I played the prequel, Akumajō Dracula X Chi no Rondo, in its original form (PC Engine CD-ROM², which is a Japanese exclusive)? Of course, nowadays both games are available in America in an updated collection for the PSP called Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (Symphony of the Night is unlocked by finding a secret in Stage 3). Both games are great and the one featured here is sometimes called the best game in the Castlevania series, which is quite an accomplishment. If you don't know the Castlevania series, you're missing a lot. Some recent games might not feel the same as the older ones, but the series still features some of the greatest titles ever where you play as a vampire hunter who must make his way to Dracula's castle and vanquish the legendary vampire. The gameplay is your standard jumping around and fighting enemies with your whip (or whatever weapon each character uses). They added lots of attack combinations not present in past games, such as an air dash and an uppercut for Richter you'll see another character in the next videos which can acquire a ton of power-ups. There are also subweapons that can be collected in the stages, you need to spend the hearts you collected to use them or perform a special attack related to them as Richter can do (heart is not health in these games). Finally, a little bit like in Castlevania II: Simon's Quest for the NES, there are RPG elements in this game, such as stats and the gain of experience, also weapons, armors and stuff. So, be prepared for one hell of a ride in a game that proved 2D gaming's excellence (with nice old school graphics, effects and very great music thanks to the CD format like its prequel) in an era where 3D slowly began to dominate video games everywhere. Don't forget, if you have requests like for another video game walkthrough or something, just ask here or on my channel or even by sending me a message and if I can make it, there are good chances that I will.

  • Hey, i have a small question... I know that if you lose all your hp in this stage, a girl (i dont recognize her, sorry) comes by and give you some kind of power making you invencible. Ok, good.

    But if you beat dracula in this stage WITHOUT having to summon her, is there any difference in the rest of the game? Thanks in advance.

  • @SilverBladeTH There are various different reports, but the one I think I remember as being right was that you get some bonus in your beginning stats. Not a lot, just a little bonus.

  • @DarkEvil87 (Continuation from the previous comment - part 2)

    I recommend people getting a total of 42 hearts before entering into the drac room (without getting any sub weapon either). You'll end up with 45 hearts. Then use the fire whip twice on drac normal form, and save a last one for when he's going to transform.

    Each fire whip takes 15 hearts. 15 X 3 = 45

    If you manage to do that without getting a single hit, you'll start with better stats + neutron bomb + heart refresh. =D

  • @SilverBladeTH That's got to be the most comprehensive answer I've got about that so far. I see why it took 3 replies to get all that information, but it's very useful.

  • In my opinion all the 3D Castlevanias AKA Koeivanias are shit, 2Ds like Symphony of Night are where it's at!

  • @guitarheroaddict12 You see, some people would even say "including the voice acting". It of course depends on the type of person you are and I can clearly hear how bad it is, but it's like so bad it's good, which I would rarely say applies to a game.

  • i fuckin beat him when i was 4 best boss ever tho

  • @DarkEvil87 It is actually inspiring myself to make a video just to explain this. If i do, i'd be glad to put it as a reply to this video.

  • @DarkEvil87 (Continuation from previous comment)

    - If you kill dracula without even GETTING a sub weapon (you can press triangle to set richter whip on fire, though) and also battle dracula without taking not even a single hit, you start with better stats. (which makes the game better)

  • @DarkEvil87 I researched about it a little after i asked that, and i found out some stuff:

    - If you lose all your hp while in dracula second form, you'll start with a potion;

    - If you collect a total of 45 or more hearts, you'll start with a neutron bomb;

    - If you spend ALL your hearts before winning the battle, you'll start with a heart refresh.
