@iPlayBball08 Thanks for watching my video. The reason you want to shoot the ball from above your head is so that it doesn't get blocked. Being 14, you are stronger and can shoot the ball from there, where you probably couldn't back 4 or 5 years ago. Shooting the ball from your waist will lead to a lot of your shots getting blocked, and you will need to shoot the ball from above your head if you are inside the lane. Keep shooting it from up there using the proper form, and good luck to you!

ur teaching the women style of shooting. Men shoot it at or above the forehead buddy

@TheJChasta Thanks for watching my video. These videos are aimed at youth basketball players, most are not strong enough to get the ball up above their forehead. As a player gets stronger, they can then raise where they shoot the ball from.

thats wrong u extended ur arm too much, u cant just push the ball, i do that now but it is wrong

@Excercisekid Hello, and thanks for watching my video! Yes, you are correct, you don't just push the ball. As I say in my video, you must bend your knees, that is where the power is coming from. You must also extend your arm and follow thru, if not, you will short arm the ball and leave the shot short. If I can clarify or help with anything else, let me know, I have coached junior high basketball for 26 years and have successfully taught hundreds of players the proper shooting technique.
