Quadrophenia was the MOST underrated album in rock history! It is a classic album and I love hearing the live versions of these songs! Thanks ALOT

@bartkowskibman Yes there's such a stigma attached to rape these days

can never get enough of this. I'm going back soon, home to get that baboon. who cut up my eye, tore up my levi's. something stronger could real hold me down. getting hi, rape, betting...this is our theme! its any of us as younger guys full of piss and vinegar

not rly. The closest you get to a serious example of a Who theme as a whole is the end of The Rock, when all four themes are being played simultaneously.
I get what you're saying, but I don't think Pete would really agree with you.

This is everyone's theme wrapped into one. Each has their own theme
Roger - Helpless Dancer
Keith - Bell Boy
John - Is it Me (which is in this song)
Pete - Love Reign O'er Me
But this song has elements and lyrics from all four of those songs, along with new elements that fit them. This song is The Who's theme as a whole.

damn, Moon sounds like a fucking machine gun back there!

Look, I saw this performed on a stormy Thanksgiving night, 1973 (Forum, L.A.). The single greatest rock show (and band) I've ever witnessed. Quadrophenia worked, it was amazing, I don't recall any glitches...incredible. After the only true "call them back" encore I've ever seen (15 minutes of non-stop clapping), they ended with Pete smashing his guitar.
Concerts were all downhill after that. As Townshend pointed out "It's raining outside. That's a good sign."
It was indeed.
