The research at the Institute of Cellular Therapeutics at UofL's School of Medicine is being used in clinical trials on several types of medical conditions, and it's showing great promise for curing auto-immune diseases like multiple sclerosis.

Dr. Suzanne Ildstad's research team at UofL is actively seeking participants for the MS trial. If you'd like to participate, call 502-852-2080 or 877-453-7823

  • I was born with Sickle Cell (SC) DIsease and I had an bone marrow transplant in Dec 2006 in which my mom (who was a half match) was my donor. I am the first peron to be cured of Sickle Cell in which a half match donor was used. And now I am Sickle Cell free. Anyone who would like to know more about my story or this type of transplant can contact the John Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland.

  • Get your state to organize a program to screen, test and counsel the carriers. If not the numbers of affected Kentuckians will grow.

People with sickle cell disease already have enough problems with which to deal...poverty, crime, lack of sound education, good parental guidance, etc.
