I appreciate your willingness to "spill the beans" about EthnoG. (my new term which you may use). I "minored" in it at Kellogg Bschool but despite 5 years at two different consumer products co.s, I've never actually employed it. Unless you call watching people color their hair through a one way mirror - EthnoG... So I guess that's my question. What is it really (observing someone engage with a product/idea in the place it's meant to be used (ie. their home) or am I thinking too small?

Irrelevantly, Siamack, what was that marquee (tent?)in the background?
You see, my observational powers working overtime!

Hi maryvangeffen and thanks for your question. For me, anything which adds MEANING to a event or an activity is ethnographic research. Ideally adding meaning to a film but not essential. And meaning which helps clients see things in new ways, reframe everyday events and turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.
BTW, Kelloggs is a client.
