Movement and gait disability in dementia become obvious as the disease progresses. In the presented examples of tennis ball exercises you see immediate changes in hand coordination in people with dementia. These uncoordinated hand movements in people with dementia became coordinated once they started doing exercises with the tennis ball. This phenomenon was a starting point for me as a doctor to develop a set of hand exercises, described in my workbook, How to Activate Your Brain™.
