If Clutch had a definition it would be as follows.
Clutch - Music for music's sake.
And anyone who doesn't believe C! has reached legendary status is sorely mistaken. Just because we live in a society that shuns musicians who produce "real" music does not mean that a band that produces such cannot attain said levels. Ask anyone in the music biz what they think of these guys.

Saw a dude with a badass shirt yesterday,had the 'Strange Cousins From The West' logo splashed across the back.So epic I had to investigate.A band I'd never heard of doing great things with rock,keeping the genre I thought to be lost alive.Some things are just meant to be.Instant fan.Turn it UP!

@guitarnotfish I dont think either band you metion manages to have its riiff and distors sound so Led Zepellin-ly (without actually being a copy off).

@guitarnotfish Listening to a genre for a long time doesn't make you an authority on it anymore than being a simple fan does. Clutch may not bring a whole lot new to the table, sonically, but they're a damn good band. They're by far my favorite blues-rock act, that's for sure.

@davedean1571 To me, it sounds like a mix of Gov't Mule and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Both great bands. But an alltime legendary band? Umm...no. Then again, what do I know? I've only been listening to heavy guitar music since 1974. No way I could compete with your inspired judgments. *eye roll*
