People make fun of this song for singing about being different, yet "promoting their trend". Do people see the video? There's goths, punks, preps, cholos, nerds, etc. It's not promoting the Good Charlotte "trend", it's promoting integration of social circles. Basically it's saying that it shouldn't matter if you shop at Hot Topic or Abercrombie or Goodwill, be a good person and be yourself and love who you want.
