http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/adjustyourcolor/ He was a drug addict, a convicted felon, a hustler and a shock jock. Petey Greene gave voice to the unheard -- speaking truth to power on his raw and uncensored TV and radio programs. His explosive language and brash style shocked the world as he battled both the system and his own demons on a journey to becoming a leading activist during some of the most tumultuous years in recent history.

In this clip, narrator Don Cheadle introduces Petey Greene: “an ex-offender, jokester, activist, sometime drinker and user of forbidden words.”

ADJUST YOUR COLOR: The Truth of Petey Greene premieres Tuesday, February 3 on Independent Lens, a weekly series airing on PBS. Hosted by Terrence Howard, the acclaimed series showcases powerful and innovative independent films. Presented by ITVS, Independent Lens is broadcast on PBS stations nationwide. • Now this is real talk radio not that the liberal or conservative nonsense that keeps people in a state of ignorance.

  • sadly, it may be all but impossible for a voice like petey's to emerge again because there will be too many out there parcing his words, using the almighty soundbite to distort his interntion. it would be hard to reach the masses.
