Yeah, they're sort of legendary, although they've done a great job of creating their own legend with Dark Lord Day. Good beers though, regardless.

What would you recommend as a beer without a bitter aftertaste?

@tehfear well, a mild or old ale would fit the bill - maybe Robinson's Old Tom, although it's quite strong. Moorhouse's Black Cat has got a lot of roasted flavour, although it's not particularly bitter. Copper Dragon Golden Pippin is fairly easy on the hops, being in the Pennine golden mild style. Or any Bavarian-style wheat beer - Grolsch Weizen in particular
