  • So when Rutherford did his gold foil experiment where he found out that alpha particles actually angled off in opposite directions. Why would the plum pudding model be an inaccurate analysis of the description of rutherford experiment?

  • @theyasin33 not only did the alpha particle get deflected, but most of the particles went right through the gold foil. This meant that most of the matter must be space not some positive substance as Thompson had suggested.
