An extraordinary recording from 1976, with young russian violinist Boris Belkin playing part of the 1st Mov. from Tchaikobvsky Concerto, with the legendary Leonard BERNSTEIN and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
Many many years ago (in the seventies) he was in the Netherlands in Utrecht. It was a spectacular performance. Very great talent. And... he was a very handsome boy.
How old was Boris Belkin here, Machteld? Seems that at his age he is a serious competitor of all the great violinists. Profound and outrageous! Surely a living master around all those today.
Brilliant!!! Stradivarius?

The 1st movement starts actuallly 10 minutes prior to this clip, so dont confuse yourself, the concerto last actually for over 40 minutes...

Avvolgente, meraviglioso, grandissimo. Da anni seguo i suoi concerti. E' sempre uno dei più grandi violinisti viventi.
