  • oh, papageno und papagena sind so niedlich!!

  • perche, MarcAvant, non ascolti questo, invece di giustificare robaccia che ti fa cadere in depressione?

  • Papagana here is one of my favorites!!! For a little woman she can really throw her voice!!!:-))Queen of the Night was not bad!!!!!!!!- as some have suggested!!!!

  • The queen of the night was very bad. Simply she needs more practice. Papageno in some parts sounds like a tenor not like a baritone.

  • Uh... How about "Weil ein Schwarzer häßlich ist," and "Eine Weiße nahm mich ein,

Weiss ist schön!" Both lines from Monostatos. Maybe the slants on skin color are metaphorical, but I some how doubt it.

  • There is nothing racist at all about Die Zuaberfloette. Black is used in its usually symbolic value of evil--it has nothing to do with people whose ancestors more recently came from Africa than others (don;t forget that everyone is descended from African immigrants).

I think you're mistaken about Monastatos--you must be thinking of Papageno--oh, and isn't he discriminating against the bird people?

  • Also, Die Zauberflöte is SUPER racist. It's not the interpretation. Monastatos ring any bells?

  • No one loves Classical music more than I do. That is why I want to protect it from productions like this that draw so heavily on the popular culture created by marketing and advertising.

  • What?! If you don't like classical music keep your comments to yourself.
