Antenna 100 metre terminated beverage on ground. Receiver, JRC NRD 545.

  • Wow, I wish it was that easy to hear TAs over here! I'm near Boston, is it true that 1510 WWZN is a common catch over there?

  • Very impressive! Is WBAL-AM clear channel, or is the signal bouncing off the ionosphere and traveling that far?

  • @jlehmann Yes, WWZN is a regular catch in Europe. Sometimes it is even audible on portable receivers with built-in ferrite bar antenna. There are some videos on YouTube showing this.

  • I live in Maryland. I have a close relative in Balt. Nice catch. I have never heard an Irish AM regular band station in U. S. I have never heard anything on SW. I had to listen to Cork and Dublin on the WWR service over a second audio channel on my cable TV.  The stopped that.

  • Dr Beverage was a genius. 100 meter is the minimum almost.

  • Freaking awesome!

  • NRD 545 and MFJ 1026.

    Exactly the same as I have.
