Support New Orleans and its musicians! There are few places where you can find such talented and enterprising young musicians out performing on the street. Its free but it aint! So, donate to musicians and the schools and programs that support them!

I'm sorry about the guy with the whistle in the beginning of the video but this is another piece featuring New Orleans-style of music in the French Quarter thanks to some talented young men.

Snare drum: Reginald Jr.
Bass drum: Thaddeus R.
Tuba: Marshan
Trumpet: John Michael Bradford

I would also like to add that it was 100+ degrees and they had already played a few tunes.

The first part of the tune is "Big Chief" which leads into "AP Touro."

  • John Micheal was around 11 yrs old in this video. Would you mind tagging his name in this video, so that it will show up when someone types in his name. Thanks for capturing this.

  • @50fabulous1 Again, as with the first video, thanks for the nudge to add John Michael's last name. I just wish I knew the last names of the other fellas.

  • I think John Michael is now like 12 or 13 years old. He has played with the Treme Brass Band, among others. He's got a great, supportive network of musicians in NOLA - to help teach him the music. His Mom is also fantastic. This song, fyi - is "Big Chief" - then they go into "A P Tuoro"... Don't know the other guys - but in NOLA - there's lots of opportunities if the students want to learn.

  • Thank you for providing the song titles and information about John Michael. I wish him and the other fellas the best and hope to see them performing again next time I go home.

  • I am in love with this!! Everything from the old man time-keeper to whitey tooting the trumpet. Is that kid like 12? They have some skills!!!

  • They were all about 15 give or take a year or 2. Nice fellas, too. I hope they all have long and prosperous careers and lives. And, at the risk of being selfish, I hope they stay in the city for there to be a blend of old and new to keep the music alive. Music isn't born in a generation but with it and passed on to the next.
