When FOLEY introduced GEORGE CLINTON to KIM BURRELL's music nearly a decade ago, The pairing of these 3 people was inevitable...the song "Mathematics" was the result. CHRIS "Big Dog" DAVIS of philly on keys, was the Brilliant "glue" that made it all come together. While FOLEY watched KIM lay her vocal in ONE take, he noticed that his "LEAD BASS" was in the same range as KIM BURRELL's voice...So, he recorded trailing her voice NOTE-4-NOTE ( just Amazing ) this was one of many takes of that recording....UN-REAL !

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOLEY !!

Enjoy,
Melanie

  • Great!!! I love Foley (he invited me to dance onstage at a Toulouse concert 15 years ago, and we also had a nice chat afterwards - I still cherish the pictures we made) and always wondered where he had vanished to after the brilliant album he made with George & the pack around 1992-93. Talk about lost funk here! Mathematics is one of the most fascinating songs on GC's Gangsters of Love album. Do I have to understand it originates from an earlier period with Foley? Where did you get this version?

  • FIYA!!! Happy Birthday Hoove!!!!
