beautiful....i was wondering if you could help me. Last year i was with family in Wareham and saw that it was free fishing along a stretch of the river, regretably all my fishing tackle was back home in London. Im going back in 1 weeks time and this time with rod in hand, have you got any tips for the stretch? or any ideas for a good swim?

@samuellanckmans I have never fished the wareham stretch, but have heard some stories of good chub, roach and grayling. Im pretty sure bread and corn will work well and there will be no harm in using maggots too.
As for swims I think any fast flowing deep bends in the river, or fish near fallen trees for chub and where the water slackens off. As for specific areas Im not sure you may have to pop into one of the many tackle shops and get some advice. Keep tactics simple, stick float is popular

@dhowell2006 good luck and let me know how it goes, one thing i forgot to mention there are specimen roach and grayling on that stretch so a light hooklink and small hook is a good choice, if you can trot a piece of bread in the fast flowing water, and hand feed small pieces of bread to keep the fish interested. Sorry i cant give you specific locations / swims.
Have a good time fishing
