Air accident investigators have started to probe a tourist plane crash in Venezuela which killed a British boy.
Eight other UK nationals were injured when the light aircraft came down near Canaima in the south of the country.
Civil protection director Luis Diaz said the plane, a Cessna, crashed on Friday near the runway shortly after take-off. It was bound for Angel Falls, a popular tourist destination in the area.
The dead boy has been named as Thomas Horne, six, who was travelling with his parents and other tourists.
A spokesman for the Foreign Office said those injured in the crash were airlifted to hospital in Cuidad Bolivar, the nearest town to Canaima. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
