Critically acclaimed, constantly touring New York guitar virtuoso Gary Lucas collaborated with Hong Kong vocalist Sally Kwok 郭菱 to create a sensational evening concert at the fabulous Gosney & Kallman's Chinatown, Shanghai. The event was held on Thursday August 5th 2010.
On this very special evening Gary Lucas highlighted Shanghai's great contribution to world music: 'Mid Century Chinese Pop' - in a typically eclectic set, rounded out with some Gary Lucas originals, Jeff Buckley and Captain Beefheart collaborations, Rolling Stones tunes and even arrangements of classical and film music. Add to that the fabulous Sally Kwok on vocals and what transpires is a magical journey back to 1935 Shanghai.
