If one of the reasons the would-be bomber was used as a tool to get body scanners installed in airports, why did he need to get escorted onto the plane? Because they would have found his bomb at the terminal checkpoint, right?

So if security at present is invasive enough to be effective against a guy with something in his underwear, why would a conspiracy for more invasive measures be necessary? I'm just curious what he thinks the conspiracy here is in regard to the body scanners. Anybody?
