My cousin was on his way home that night and saw a lot of cops headed that way. I was glad that the road was reopened the following morning; otherwise, I wouldn't make my way to FedEx. lol.

Some cop probably freaked out and instead of engaging the suspects, he started popping off rounds downrange at anything that moved. I'm sure that Chico PD has some good officers, but a good house cleaning by some federal agency might be in order. They could can send the Chief on his way right now, not questions asked, install new chief from the outside and then start weeding out the bottom 25% based on performance and make those numbers unacceptable for new recruits. It's called raising the bar
