i've never loved such a current song. i think it came out the year my brother was born. 1993? this man is great :) i saw him in concert in 2008. he's still got it!

I grew up with the Steve Miller Band and have much respect for his legacy. The Gangster of Love wrote so many great songs, including this one. However, Sahara Hotnights just knock this cut out of the park - a much better version than Steve's original. The Swedish power-pop band - four amazing women - kicked off "Sparks," their 2009 all-covers album, with a faster, more vibrant version of "Wide River." Search on youtube, and you'll see a great performance of it.
