Helped me with the general idea of the thing
I'm doing a character research and development, and (despise being a woman) she uses a side-sword, and I would like to make her fighting style correct. if you know anywhere to get more info and reference, I would be very glad, by the way =)

I meant early Renaissance, late Medieval. I'm judging by the way the swords are held and the tactics used. I'm not arguing by any means... just an observation

Yes, it is Talhoffers school of swordfighting.
Talhoffer was born ~1420 and died ~1490, so those techniques were written down somewhere in that time.
I'm still trying to make a movie of the other weapons we use, but those lie in the rooms of the main group, so we just have those normal hand-and-a-half swords here.
I'm teaching my own apprentice some one handed techniques, maybe i could manage to get filmed on the next training session.

This would be late Renaissance if anything. Late Medieval most likely. Great work though.

From my point of information, Renaissance is the period of time between late 14th century until 17th century, as a "rebirth of the ancient times". The period between those two is called the middleages.
So it should be early renaissance, short before this art was lost for fencing and gunnery and gives this style a great perfection. The best fighters were always from Milan, but they also had more modern swords.
If you liked it, feel free to show all your friends.
