I have 2 set ups here for whatever mood I'm in:
Redi-Rad, basically a Ipod/cd player transmitter for your AM radio. It's a mono-phonic sound through the dash speaker. Very authentic if you have old radio recordings or "AM Gold" songs.

"Amp"
I have an 80 Watt Pioneer 2 channel amp installed under the passenger side of the bench seat on the floor, 2 small holes to mount it. An RCA cable end (red/white) with a headphone jack on one end attached to Ipod feeds through the Amp, and to two rear speakers mounted behind the fold down back seat. This option gives me stereo of course.

  • this help me a lot. i have 79 benz, and has same AM/FM transmitter like you have.

and i bought a sub and amp and i am gonna do the same thing. thanks for the video.

  • If you want vintage AM sound with an iPod, why not just have an EQ filter in line with an AUX input? That's what I'd do!

  • Very nice, I appreciate the tip I'm going to go with your amp setup in my 66 Chevelle and my step son's 73 Duster. Any idea where I can find a recording like you have of the old radio broadcasts, been looking for those for a while now. Thanks again for the great tips......
