The reason for why people come up with these theories and creepypastas is sadder than any creepypasta could be creepy. Everyone who played the old pokemon games had an emotional attachment to them. Now that pokemon's golden days are over pokemon players don't want that feeling to go away. So they create stories, and creepypastas. These let people dig up their old games and play them again. The sad truth is that your childhood always goes too quickly.

All of the stories about Lavender town are true but there are some things about gary too that most people don't or have even heard of like how he even evolved the pokemon that need to be traded or the fact where he got the ratacate. Gold/Silver/Heartgold/Soulsilv­er were all based 3 years after red/blue/yellow/firered/leafgr­een. The reason the radio tower is gone in firered/leafgreen and back in heartgold/soulsilver is because they are remakes of the original games and thus have the same story, with many alterations to make the gameplay easier, etc. Either way, the disappearance and reappearance of the radio tower is nothing special.
