@richbwoi1 yes, usually is an eletric guitar which connects to an pedal effects. The effect this guy is using on the reggae is called "wah wah effect"

The preset he's using sounds like a clavinet with an auto wah and possibly a phaser or flanger as well.. Tyron downing from Bob Marley always used this combination. He would also use a wurlitzer /rhodes with an auto wah. The auto wah is what makes this sound so effective.
