Comedy science series. How a love of drugs can act to build a love of science.
Part 2:
By studying MDMA, we explore the relationship between our chemical biology and states that we associate with our personal identity. What does it mean to say "I am not a confident person" when confidence can be induced by molecular masturbation of receptors in the brain? or by words alone? By exploring how drugs have these effects, we learn a great deal more about ourselves.
Keysword to Enjoy and Reuse today:
Neurotransmitters - Molecules which are released from neurons to carry a message to another cell
Receptors - Tiny bits on the outside of cells which recieve neurtransmitters.
Agonists - Molecules which bind to receptors and stimulate a response
Antagonists - Molecules which bind to receptors and block them up
Reuptake Transporter - A pump which recycles neurotransmitters back into neurons (transporting them accross the cell membrane)
Useful Video about Nicotine as an Agonist.

This is awesome! Love how you connected the reason for taking a MDMA (to feel amazing!) and beliefs/words and how they too can easily effect our state of mind. It's all a state of mind.. I love MDMA but also love getting to that state of ecstasy without the comedown!! ; )
