In this installment of Young Creatives, Pop City meets up with Terrance Hayes, an award winning poet, currently teaching and writing in Pittsburgh.
Featured reading is from the City of Asylum 2008 Jazz/Poetry concert, held at the New Hazlett.
His collections of poems have been received with high acclaim. Hip Logic, his second book was a 2001 National Poetry Series selection. Muscular Music, his debut collection, received the Kate Tufts Discovery Award.
Recently, Terrance was awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship for poetry.
