@thunderpussy100 No small feat, considering how big an asshole Blair already is.

"moderate" believers like tony blair here make even less sense than religious fundamentalists. they only believe the comfortable, cherry picked parts of their holy books, they reject most of what their churches/religious institutions do and stand for, they pretty much live their every day lives as atheists... and their main argument is "hey, there's some religious people that aren't that bad.". at least fundamentalists stay coherent in their world view. they're wrong, but coherent nontheless.

Faith is entirely based on the fear of hell. Anything you do for faith is to prevent hell. If that wasn't the case, there would be no need for God to sentence people to hell for all eternity. Hell is a scaring tactic. "If you don't believe in MY God, you will surely burn in hell."

Religion will never be a source of good. Not until you re-write the rule books. With the Bible being full of slavery, child/wife abuse, homophobia, etc... Christianity will always be very negative and evil.

Hitch undeniably tore Blair a new asshole!

@TheAsymmetrical There were a astonishing amount of civilian deaths in both wars, to me that is not liberty nor freedom. They are fully capable to govern themselves, revolt if they please. There is a false belief and view that because we in the developed world have had democracy longer, we are smarter and know better then the people of their own countries, so we have the authority to march into other countries and occupy them with force. Force is never a way to bring peace.

It almost makes me laugh when they claim Hitler was trying to destroy religion.
