Let's Play Super Mario RPG - #21. Yaridovich's True Form

It's now time that we re-obtain our star. We just have to beat this giant behemoth to do it. This wasn't quite what we expected when we heard about his true form, but there is no time for hesitation. Let's just take him out and save the people of Seaside.

Mushroom Boy items:

Here are the items you can get from Mushroom Boy. Remember, there is no normal, absolute way to tell if you have one of these special mushrooms, because even in your game inventory, they are still listed as Mushrooms. It's something randomly determined by the game internally. So whenever you get a mushroom, go see Mushroom Boy and he will let you know if you have a special mushroom. I think it only works with regular "Mushrooms," not Mid, Max and the other kinds of mushrooms, but I don't know for certain.

I bought the cymbals a long time ago and sold them because they became inferior to the Whomp Glove when I got that weapon.

Also, I don't know if this is true or not, but I did hear from a friend that if you wait long enough in the Yaridovich battle, Johnny may aid you in the fight. This was a long time ago, mind you.
