Great review, good on you!
I'm looking at getting a Falcon myself, probably not an XT but something a bit more up class like a Fairmont/Ghia maybe even just a Futura.
Good to hear they are solid performing cars, I saw a few in person today, look and feel very nice, actually quite a lot more pleasant than an equivalent Commodore (which is what I grew up with.

i got the SR version of this last year for 8,000.
not a bad car. little lacking on power if anything!

Was it a headache replacing the cracked gear plate thingy (dunno what it's called lol). The silver thing around the gear stick. Mine's starting the bubble up and i want to get it replaced. Just need to know if it's an easy fix or if i have to pull half the car apart...

@connell70 Hey Mate, I've sent you an inbox message into how to do it (For some funny reason youtube doesn't allow me to post links as comments), it does take a bit to get it whole centre console out but you should find it straight forward following the instruction I sent to you

@yzf2008r6 No :/ (Yeah, I know what they do if you don't have one and I know stupid me hasn't got one yet...). But it done 206 k's on it now and it a Oct03 build, which from what I heard Ford resolved the transmission problem by then, unless I am mislead.
