On our 3d CAD gear models at Spiral Bevel Co we recommend rounded fillets, tangentially blended to the drive side of the tooth surface, not chamfers. Take advantage of your 3,4,..,7-axis CNC and put a splined tooth modification gently transitioned to the rounded fillets on the edges.
